BODYTRAFFIC’s infectious energy has drawn audiences across the United States. The company embodies the urban spirit of Los Angeles, where it stands out thanks to energetic and refined works danced by a dozen performers of rare versatility. The program is divided into four parts: Matthew Neenan’s A Million Voices, a tribute to the legendary Peggy Lee, Queen of cool; Micaela Taylor’s SNAP, a nod to the great James Brown; Canadian Ethan Colangelo’s Recurrence, which questions the way human beings treat their loved ones; and finally, Richard Siegal’s o2joy, a resolutely jazzy piece in which pure joy bursts forth.
